Dunfermline business is picture perfect

Emma Pauley
Company Name: Miss Pauley's
Company Contact: Emma Pauley
Size: Start-up

Joint winner of the Carnegie UK Trust TestTown 2013 Competition, Emma Pauley, is continuing to establish her innovative high street craft centre with support from the community and assistance from Business Gateway Fife.

Emma is passionate about encouraging local artistic talent and currently supports 50 local businesses by selling their hand crafted products and art works in her Dunfermline craft centre. Here she also hosts a regular programme of events aimed at the creative children and adults of the town.

Last summer Emma was joint winner of TestTown 2013, a business competition aimed at young entrepreneurs and their vision of how to revitalise vacant town centres. Believing our town centres need a shop that serves the community and supports local businesses, her venture, ‘Miss Pauley’s’, was opened last November assisted by the prize winnings from the competition.

As she navigates the notoriously tricky first year in business, Business Gateway Fife has been on hand to offer advice and support, Emma said:

“Business Gateway Fife has been a great resource. If I’m struggling with anything, then I know that I can call Graeme, my Business Adviser. I was also recommended a number of useful workshops in marketing and social media which have helped me to use Facebook to build awareness of the business. Business Gateway Fife really is invaluable for any business that is starting out and I can’t recommend them highly enough.”
