With a host of professional qualifications and 11 years’ experience working as a physio in the NHS, Vicky Oshagbemi knew the time was right to start her own business.

Launched in January, with support from Business Gateway Fife, Dunfermline based Connected Physio (www.connectedphysio.com) has made a great start with string of clients looking to Vicky for everything from deep tissue massage, spinal mobilisation, acupuncture and myfoscial release to muscle energy techniques and post-operative rehabilitation.

“It has been a fantastic first few months and we are working hard to keep the business moving at the same pace,” said Vicky. “It was a huge leap to go from employed to self-employed status but fortunately Business Gateway has been on hand to guide me through the process.

“My adviser, Graeme Allan, helped me develop my business plan and cash flow projections and pointed me towards Business Gateway Fife’s free workshop programme. The Tax session was particularly useful and I hope to do a marketing workshop in the coming months.”

Although Connected Physio has only been up and running for a short time, Vicky is looking to the future and hopes to develop a full wellness centre, including pilates, yoga and other holistic treatments in the coming months. Vicky continued: “I feel passionately about rehabilitating the body using exercise to restore health and wellbeing, and I will certainly be looking to Business Gateway Fife to help me develop this side of the business moving forward.”
