Fife’s Falkland Estate has announced a series of pop-up dining experiences with local chef, Stella Colleluori to celebrate the success of its ‘Buy Local, Taste the World’ meal kits. The first BYOB* pop-up will take place on Friday, 8th April from 7pm in the estate’s charming Horsestalls.
Like the meal kits, the dining experience promises tantalising flavours from around the world using locally sourced ingredients.
Stella, who runs Hatters caterers in nearby Newburgh, will host the first event taking inspiration from the flavours of Sri-Lanka. The three-course feast’s main course will feature the delicious Dark roasted black Venison curry served with fragrant turmeric rice and coconut greens from NeighbourFood Falkland’s recently launched Sri-Lankan meal kit. The Horsestalls provide an intimate setting for guests with a log burning fire and stunning courtyard. Chef Colleluori will be mingling with guests throughout the event, providing guests with the opportunity to find out more about the dishes.
The Buy Local, Taste the World meal kits launched last August with the aim of providing customers with some of best flavours from around the globe with locally sourced, seasonal produce. There’s a Mexican beef wrap that uses high quality organic beef farmed on the estate. The other two meal kits feature wild venison from the estate, the Sri-Lankan black curry and a beautifully prepared venison loin, that takes inspiration from Scandinavia. NeighbourFood Falkland is due to launch a fourth meal kit inspired by Greece.
Based at Falkland Estate, NeighbourFood Falkland is an online click and collect market that allows people to shop weekly from a selection of local produce.
Lesley Duffy, NeighbourFood Falkland Market Host said:
“Since launching our click and collect market, having the weekly market has helped us connect with local producers. We decided to step it up and incorporate stunning global flavours that really complement the local produce. Stella has been a joy to work with and has put so much energy and imagination into making local food inspiring and delicious.
“We can’t wait to host the first event with the Sri-Lankan inspired menu and showcase how well our produce goes hand in hand with wonderful flavours from around the world.”
The Pop-up dining experience is priced at £216 for six people (£36 per person). *Guests can bring their own alcohol or purchase a range of drinks ahead of the evening.
Any allergies to be accommodated are to be advised in the booking process. Vegetarian and Vegan options are unavailable.

NeighbourFood Falkland supports local producers who supply high-quality food and drink to nearly 400 local customers. The team carefully selects producers who care about their ingredients, land and animals and appreciate the significance of sustainability. Using ingredients from many of Falkland Estate’s local suppliers from the weekly click-and-collect market, Falkland Estate’s meal kits present locals with the opportunity to buy innovative meals with all ingredients conveniently packaged in one box with an easy-to-follow recipe. The crucial ingredient of Falkland Estate meal kits is that the contents of the box are local. Customers are able to access conveniently packaged ingredients for tasty meals, with the added assurance that the ingredients they are using are sourced as locally as possible. At the same time, local food producers have their produce lovingly paired by local chef Stella Colleluori with other local ingredients to create a tongue tingling meal.
Meal Kits are available to buy at www.neighbourfood.co.uk/falkland.
These change seasonally with the Sri-Lankan curry currently in season. The Greek meal kit will be launched on 23rd May. Meal kits are priced at £20 and serve two.
Falkland Estate sits at the very heart of Fife on the outskirts of the beautiful conservation village of Falkland just a short journey from Edinburgh and Dundee. With a history that dates back to the Iron Age, the estate is particularly famous for its connections with the Stuart monarchs, who used Falkland Palace as a base for hunting. Today, the estate is a place of thoughtful stewardship and education, organic farming alongside a stunning space for community recreation, volunteering and enjoyment.
