INVEST FIFE RESEARCH REVEALS POSITIVITY AND OPTIMISM AMONGST FIFE BUSINESSES

Fife businesses are feeling optimistic about the future as lockdown restrictions ease, according to findings from a business survey conducted by Invest Fife.

The outlook for economic growth is upbeat, as 65 per cent of the 385 Fife-based businesses that participated in the online survey in April, reported feeling positive about the future, and 60 per cent are confident of sustainability, with just 7 per cent reporting a ‘severe risk’.

VIRTUAL FOOD FAIR BRINGS OPTIMISM TO FIFE BUSINESSES

Several Fife-based businesses, which signed up to participate in Scotland’s Speciality Food Show, hosted virtually over the course of 2021, have reported favourable enquiries, with one business confirming a new supply contract, bringing a feeling of optimism to Fife’s food and drink sector. 

 

Of the five Fife businesses participating in the online show, Rumburra, Pittenween Preserves, BplasticFree and Feragaia, have all had positive experiences of exhibiting virtually, which has included video presentations, live Q&As and online appointments.

Fife Businesses Secure IEE Funding Support

A number of Fife businesses have been successful in securing funding under the IEE Employer Fund.

The purpose of the fund is to support micro businesses secure funding to assist their business to trade safely under new government guidelines, maintain employment, prevent redundancy or allow staff to work from home efficiently.

The fund can be used to purchase equipment, software or support deemed necessary to trade legally and that will support the retention of employees and contracts of employment.
