Pitreavie Delivers £1.1 Million Investment

Packaging group, Pitreavie, has revealed ambitious plans to the value of £1.1 million including the creation of a new 5,000 sq. ft. office complex and an additional 40,000 sq. ft. of warehouse space, at its Glenrothes head office.

The announcement follows a £650,000 investment into the business last year, as well as the acquisition of Worcester- based Taylors Industrial Supplies and Aberdeen-based Leipers Associated Packaging in recent months.

Dunfermline Delivers Renewal Ballot

Dunfermline Delivers, the not-for-profit BID company, is pleased to announce that Fife Council’s City of Dunfermline Area Committee has agreed to support the renewal ballot at the Committee meeting on Tuesday 26 March 2019. This is one of the first stages in the BID consultation and renewal process leading up to the ballot in summer 2019. Levy payers will be invited to vote on the renewal of another five-year term of the BID company when ballot papers, including the business plan, are sent out in early May.

Fife Tourism Now Worth £588 Million To The Economy

Fife is celebrating another successful year in which it attracted local, national and international visitors to the region. Tourism in the region is now worth £588 million to the economy, a four per cent increase in value year-on-year.

More than 8.3 million trips were made to the Kingdom in 2017, which have generated tourism- related employment for over 12,000 people.

And, this year, Fife Tourism Partnership in collaboration with its six Local Tourist Associations has driven further economic growth and enhanced visitor experience across the region.

A Showcase of Fife Food & Drink in London

As part of a Food from Fife delegation, five Fife businesses have recently returned from representing the region at one of the UK’s biggest food and drink trade shows with support from Fife Council Economic Development’s Trade Development Programme.

Immediately after the event, Tayport Distillery, which produces Never.25, said that “it was a very enjoyable and worthwhile show”, and in total, over 284 enquiries were generated by the five businesses during the three-day event.

CMS Invests in Fife

CMS Window Systems, one of the largest UK companies designing, manufacturing and installing PVCu and aluminium windows, doors and curtain walling, has invested in Fife.

It recently opened its new 8,500 sq. ft. factory in Hayfield, Kirkcaldy with an investment of over half a million pounds. CMS has taken on eight new members of staff and two apprentices to manufacture PVCu, composite and fire doors at the facility.

Take Over Brings Exciting Opportunities

AGS Electronics is evolving following a takeover by Testworks Group. The Dunfermline electronics business is expanding with plans to take on more staff and to grow into neighbouring premises.
